In terms of shape, the building is located along the long side of the site of the complex. As the design area has a significant difference in height (about 10 meters), the entrances to different parts of the building are provided at different levels. Also, we provided the installation of a ramp for barrier-free access to all parts of the building along Repin street.
The main idea of our concept was to combine four different functional groups in one building: the music school building, the concert hall, the group of fine arts premises, and the art preschool club. At the same time, each of these zones can fully function as separate units or, if necessary, expand its area at the expense of adjacent spaces.
In the central part of the building, there is a multifunctional hall, which, also can be used as a hall for a concert hall, a large lecture hall, a place for various events, seminars, and exhibitions.
Shape
The building has variable floors of 2-4 floors, with an underground floor which provides for parking and technical facilities. Vertical communication is provided by an elevator and 5 stairwells located in different parts of the building. There is also a separate lift for cafe service.
According to its functional purpose, it is divided into four groups: the music school building, the concert hall, the group of fine arts premises, and the art preschool club.
In the block of the concert hall on the first level, there is a hall with grandstands, a block of auxiliary rooms (security, wardrobe, bathrooms), technical rooms of the kitchen block (partly in the space under the grandstands), a concert hall, dressing rooms, and rehearsal room. On the second level of the concert hall, there is a cafe that will serve concert hall visitors and a kitchen.
Floor plans
On the ground floor of the building, there are classrooms (including choreography halls and orchestra classes) and a small hall with a locker room.
The second level of the educational building includes educational premises in the field of music (individual classes, classes of theoretical disciplines, choral singing classes) and technical creativity (programming).
The third level of the educational building includes educational premises in the field of music (individual classes, choral singing classes) and technical creativity (programming, media art, technical modeling). There is also an open atrium, a seating area, and a café (mezzanine above the concert hall) with a kitchen.
On the fourth level of the educational building, there is an administrative function, an archive, and a library. An atrium with a light lantern on the roof with stairs and an elevator runs through all four floors of the block.
In the block of fine arts on the first level, there is an entrance hall, two classes of modeling and sculpture. On the second level of the fine arts unit, there are rooms of applied art and rooms of drawing and painting. Also on the second level is the premises of the art preschool club with access to the yard.
Underground parking for 108 cars is located in the basement. Access to the underground parking lot is provided in the south-eastern part of the site. Also, at this level, there are technical rooms for engineering systems of the building and a kitchen lift for cafes.
While working on facades, we tried to maintain the smoothness and lightness of the forms and at the same time provide the necessary parameters for indoor facilities. The main finishing materials of facades are clinker bricks, facade glass systems, and blinds made of anodized aluminum.
